Feature race of the day is the listed Kensington Stakes where the Mark Kavanagh trained Wild Rain is the ruling $4.00 favourite at Sportsbet.
Bennett’s Best had another day out last Tuesday at Caulfield with Fast Approaching, Radical & Sword Of Light all getting the job done, plus the ‘Torquay Kid’ landed a $15,000 First 4 along the way.
Here’s Bennett’s Best for Flemington tomorrow in Melbourne and all odds are courtesy of Sportsbet.
#6 Supido is clearly the one to beat and the superior class horse but at the short odds I cant back him. For those looking for a bet in this race #9 Chiavari could run a cheeky race, she wound up well last start and showed a great turn of foot. With the claim drops to 52kgs which brings her into the race I think, she should be right there in the finish.
Suggested Bet: #9 Chiavari (Small Each Way) – $18.00 @ Sportsbet
Exotic Bets: Quinella 5, 6, 9
#4 Vital Importance should get a better sit then last start from gate five which could give her clear running closer to the line. Her last 100m to the line last start was really strong and worth noting her sectionals. She had the best 1000m, 800m, 600m, 400m (22.82) & 200m (11.66). She is looking for the step up to 1600m and will be coming home late. #3 All Cerise should set a good tempo and be the one to run down. #6 Yellen is better suited back at 1600m but I don’t think she runs out 2000m.
Suggested Bet: #4 Vital Importance (Each Way) – $5.50 @ Sportsbet
The class Horse here is #2 Real Love, brings solid group form to the race and a switch to the Darren Weir stable. Last start was 3rd in the Group 2 Perth Cup to Delicacy and she is the one to beat on that form also. Real Love also won the Perth Cup in 2015. #3 Second Bullet will control the speed and be the one to run down, loves the track and distance with 3 wins and a placing from four starts. #9 Tashbeeh should settle just off the pace from gate one and won’t do any work. Drops to 52.5kgs with the claim and at that weight he will be right in this. Likes the track and is ready for the 2000m, great chance!
Suggested Bet: Quinella, Trifecta, First 4 include 1, 2, 3, 9 boxed – Bet now @ Sportsbet
#1 Heatherly has some raw ability and is ready to step up and make it two in a row. She got done up the straight last time by Caulfield Guineas placed Ready For Victory. She raced very greenly that day she will be the one to run down. #3 Alaskan Rose won her first two then went to group racing and she is a promising filly. This could be a touch to short for her but expect her to be charging late. #14 Almighty Girl could be the roughie who shocks a few as she was huge on debut running a great time. Was 3 to 4 wide, showed a great turn of foot, and if that is on show look out for her late.
#1 Duibio was really impressive last start, his last 200 was great (11.80). He was jumping out of the ground and this step up to 1400m is ideal. #3 Harbour Grey should get the gun run but he’s up in the weights from his last start win, going up 2.5kgs which may make it tough. #4 Kings Command looks to be developing into a nice horse this prep. Won over 1300m well last start and is looking for the 1400m. Damien Oliver sticks with him and good chance. #5 Mihany may have to do a bit of work from gate 12 then will sit just off the pace or lead. Has a 4kgs swing on Harbour Grey could be hard to chase down with the low weight. #7 Pattern is the class but I think is looking for further now. #10 Polar Vortex must go in exotics. Has come from back and wide both wins and showed an impressive turn of foot. He will appreciate the big track and look for him late.
Suggested Bet: #10 Polar Vortex (Each Way) – $16.00 @ Sportsbet
Exotic Bets: Trifecta or First 4 Boxed 1, 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, 11
#6 Yesterday’s Songs was impressive in a recent jump out over 800m. He has a good fresh record and was held up last time first-up at Caulfield in the Regal Roller Stakes. He will be charging late. #8 Headwater looked sharp in recent jump out and if he can find his form from the Group 1 Moir Stakes where he ran 4th to Buffering (1.5L) he will be right in this.
Suggested Bet: #6 Yesterday’s Songs (Each Way) $7.00 @ Sportsbet
Exotic Bets: Trifecta or First 4 Boxed – 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11
#12 Best Suggestion should settle in the box seat from gate one. Could be really tough to run down with the 3kg claim down to 51kgs, also has a good record over 1400m #9 Camdus is the one to beat. Looks ready for the rise in grade and Craig Williams goes on board. If #4 Dig A Pony can get a good sit midfield expect her to be hitting the line hard. Last start could not get clear running until the last 200m and got home with a good sectional of 11.76.
Suggested Bet: Trifecta or First 4 boxed 3, 4, 9, 12, 5, 7 – Bet now @ Sportsbet
#2 Falago gets out to a suitable distance now and forget last start was held up for a run. If he can find his form from last prep he will be running home well. #1 Azurite is looking for 1800m+ now. Last start worked well to the line and should be doing the same here. Good show! #4 Siegestor hit the line hard last start to win and in doing so ran the last 200m in 11.81. Comes in well with the claim and he will be right in the mix at the finish.
Suggested Bet: #4 Siegestor (Each Way) $6.00 @ Sportsbet
Exotic Bets: Trifecta or First 4 Boxed – 1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 11
Race 6: 1, 4, 5, 7, 10
Race 7: 1, 5, 6, 8
