ATB Review Sep 4th 2013

edge-of-stormThe Darren Weir trained Edge Of Storm scored a very good victory at Stawell on September 3rd to record ATB’s second winner of the season.

Ridden a treat by Brad Rawiller, the son of Racer’s Edge jumped well and Brad had him placed beautifully in the run, sitting third on the fence, before making his move before the turn to catch his rivals napping.

Edge Of Storm defied all challengers in the straight to score his second win from 16 starts with prizemoney earnings of $34,990.

Singapore trained Lucky Lion went around for ATB on September 1st and finished strongly to finish third after being slowly away.

Jockey Lucy Allpress did a terrific job navigating the Stephen Gray trained galloper through the field to end up just two lengths from the winner on the line.

I thought Lucky Lion ran an outstanding race,” said ATB owner Darren Dance.

He was slow away and stuck back on the fence in a hopeless position but to the credit of the horse and rider, they were able to navigate their way through the race traffic and loomed to win in the straight but he had probably already done too much in the run and battled on well to the line without being able to dash past the first two.”

ATB’s Chris Waller trained Sir Dylan produced a very good first-up run at Hawkesbury on August 31st looks set for an excellent campaign.

He appears to have matured following his spell and will go around again in Race 3 at Kembla Grange on Tuesday 10th September 2013 in the Holcim Maiden Plate (1500m) at 1.58pm.
