Darren Weir trained Magnus Belle went to Geelong on August 9th over 1000 metres where she settled around 6th in in the run, but always wide, before she rallied strongly under the urgings of Damian Lane to finish a good second behind Hennessy’s View.
She was only beaten a half length on the line and looked the winner inside the 100m mark before being run down late.
“An inside draw on a dry leader’s track is what she needs,” said ATB’s Darren Dance.
Miss Adelaide stepped up to 1300m at Swan Hill on August 12th for the Jarrod McLean stable in Warrnambool and after being wide all the way she weakened in the run to the line to finish last, beaten just over 14 lengths.
Jackie Berriman got her up into third spot early in the race but she used a lot of petrol in doing so, finding little in the straight before giving ground quickly.
Darren Dance said she is likely to go for a spell now.
